The research is clear – the returns on early learning make it an exceptional investment. In this informative and engaging session, participants will explore the state’s current and future funding for early learning and follow the journey that two districts have made to meet the needs of their earliest learners. It will cover full-day kindergarten, class-size reduction funding, the Washington Kindergarten Inventory of Development Skills (WaKIDS) and other early learning initiatives.

Learner Outcomes:
1. Understand the state-level early learning initiatives that are being implemented. 2. Understand why prioritizing school district funds in the early years learning makes sense. 3. Understand a school district's rationale to institute full-day kindergarten district-wide and how they paid for it. 4. Explore other strategies that are being implemented in the two districts to improve outcomes for children.
