The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) is about more than sports and state championships. It has a direct connection to school boards, and is critical in the education of the whole child. We will explore the school directors’ role within the governance structure of WIAA, discuss emerging issues and provide an update on WIAA’s new strategic plan.

Learner Outcomes:
1. Demonstrate an understanding of how WIAA works and how it serves students. 2. Discover the changes in WIAA stemming from the new strategic plan. 3. Integrate student participation in the broad range of WIAA activities to better serve the needs of the whole child.
