This session provides an overview of research on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and its application that resulted in significantly reducing suspensions at Lincoln High School in the Walla Walla School District. Understanding ACEs and related brain research are key elements in designing more effective disciplinary strategies for students.

Learner Outcomes:
1. Be aware of the variety of adverse childhood experiences that effect student performance. 2. Discover how to apply understanding of Adverse Childhood Experiences to significantly reduce suspensions.
